Delores M. Griggs

Delores M. Griggs is an author, speaker, and retired Senior Probation Officer with thirty years of service in juvenile and adult probation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from California State University, Sacramento, CA.

Her first book, “Your Gift from God is in Your Name,” explains why people are born, named, and purposefully placed by God within this dual world, that is the Natural and the Spiritual realms.

Ms. Griggs believes that when one of these realms is absent, people are out of balance, and lacking the platform God designed for them.

She also believes it’s “Spiritual Suicide” to neglect planning for your afterlife before you die. The afterlife also has a Natural and Spiritual realm.

As a Probation Officer, she discovered many of her client’s lacked identity and purpose, which contributed to repeated involvement within the criminal system. She began showing them her goal planning program and how to use the steps.

Once her clients understood goal planning in the Natural realm, such as finishing school, working, and building their lives, many significantly reduced incarceration rates and successfully completed probation.

Her clients knew she was a Christian, however, Spiritually, they didn’t know why they were named or what Spiritual platform God intended for them. When asked, she demonstrated goal setting in the Spiritual realm as well.

As a result, building upon this idea, Ms. Griggs founded a Sportwear company with the Brand name, “Dream Maker Goals: Keep the Vision, Make the Sacrifice.”®

Through writing, speaking and her brand, she encourages individuals to build balanced, purposeful lives, which can be found in their names. Her company serves a wide audience, including parents, students, athletes, professionals, and many other vocations of interest. Additionally, she held goal planning speaking engagements with incarcerated juvenile offenders and junior high school students demonstrating how to stay out of the criminal justice system.

Ms. Griggs received a commendation in Northern California for her listening skills that resulted in assisting Law Enforcement in solving a notorious case. As a result, new Probation Officers were trained on her listening skills.

Currently Ms. Griggs actively participates in the National Sisters in Crime murder mysteries clubs across the nation. She is currently working on her first fiction murder-mystery novel that explores life’s complexities the in the Natural and Spiritual realms.

Ms. Griggs considers it a joy to work alongside her twin sister on a shared platform that educates the public through planning, writing and educational events.
